Beer Braised BBQ Pork

I eat a lot of pork butt and I’ve tried a bunch of different ways for cooking it. From oven to crockpot, I think I’ve found my favorite version of pulled pork. This beer braised BBQ pork recipe is the most amazing thing I’ve ever had for pulled pork. Braising it means that you cook it at a high temperature for a short time, then cover it and cook it in liquid for lower temperature but for a longer duration.

Dry Rub

  • 1 tbsp Cayenne Pepper

The beer is essential here so you really want to use something that’s going to have a good flavor to it. I made the mistake of trying out Not Your Father’s Root Beer my second try around and didn’t like it one bit. The flavor came out too resembling a pork tamale and that’s not really what I wanted for BBQ. But Blue Moon’s Cocoa Brown Ale worked out really amazing. Source:
